ELIGIBILITY
You must be a member of the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) to be considered for any award. Each award winner will be announced and recognized at the 7th Annual Housing Excellence Awards Celebration during the 2026 Annual Conference & Housing Excellence Awards on June 26, 2026.
- Individual Achievements are based on performance between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025.
- Projects must have been completed between January 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026.
ENTRY FEES & DEADLINES
- Regular Entry $65
- All entries (fees and materials) must be received no later than March 31, 2026.
- Builders Mutual Award No entry fee.
- HBA Awards No entry fee.

Professional Excellence
Builder of the Year
Recognizes Home Builder Association Members who have made significant long-term contributions to the HBA, the building industry and community.
Associate of the Year
Recognizes Associate Members who have made significant long-term contributions to the HBA, the building industry and community.
Outstanding Trade Contractor
Honors a trade contractor whose work demonstrated exceptional quality, reliability, and professionalism within the residential building industry.
Remodeler of the Year
Recognizes superior business management, exemplary association involvement at all levels, and outstanding contributions to the remodeling industry.
Woman of the Year
Recognizes a female builder or associate member for exemplary leadership in and dedication to the housing industry in Virginia.
Young Professional
Recognizes an HBAV member under 40 years of age for outstanding leadership and dedication to the Virginia Housing Industry.
Construction Manager of the Year
Presented to an HBAV member who inspires, leads, and enables the very best delivery of residential projects.
Sales Manager of the Year
Recognizes a full-time sales manager with recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising responsibilities.
Marketing Manager
Recognizes a marketing manager who demonstrates best practices for a Builder or Associate member company.
Office Manager of the Year
Recognizes exceptional leadership, organization, and professionalism in managing day-to-day office operations.
Executive Officer of the Year
Presented to an EO who has made major contributions to the profession and the mission of their association.

Custom Home of the Year
Recognizes an exceptional custom home that exemplifies superior craftsmanship, architectural integrity, and thoughtful design.
Remodeled Project of the Year
Recognizes an exceptional remodeling project that transforms an existing space while respecting original character.
Best Unique Home Feature
Recognizes a distinctive feature or element within a home that elevates the overall design and homeowner experience.
Community of the Year
Awards a project for new single family or mixed use community design highlighting what buyers want while keeping projects viable.
Multifamily Project
Awards a new multifamily community project showcasing the best in apartment and condo living.
Best Community Amenity
Awards the best community amenity, such as pools, tennis courts, clubhouses, or outdoor spaces.
Innovation in Construction
Honors forward-thinking homebuilding, new methods, or products that deliver a better homeowner experience.
Association & Leadership
Community Impact Award
Honors projects including volunteer activities and charitable works that provide community support and assistance.
Best HBA Project

About us
The Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) was founded in 1956 to promote and protect the Virginia housing industry. HBAV is a member of the 3-in-1 Home Builders Association Federation that includes the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and 13 local Home Builders Associations in Virginia. Members join to support HBAV’s mission and their livelihood. To join, companies apply for membership at the local association level and in doing so, become members of HBAV and NAHB.
HBAV serves the entire home building, development, and remodeling industry. One-third of HBAV’s 2,700 members are home builders, multifamily builders, land developers, and/or remodelers, while the remaining two-thirds are professional businesses and trade partners that work closely in related fields such as financing and building products.
HBAV works to accomplish its mission through advocacy, industry news and education, and membership events such as the Virginia Builders Summit & Expo and the Virginia Housing Excellence Awards.
